The Watershed
Trade Design Build led the planning, design and construction of The Watershed bar in the historic Bell Telephone Building at 121 West State Street in downtown Ithaca, New York.
The clients were committed to a conversational atmosphere; a safe, respectful, diverse space; and a low-waste bar program with a focus on sustainability. Trade Design Build worked throughout the process to craft architecture that expressed these ideals.
The use of milled mahogany, reclaimed wood, exposed concrete and metal detailing provide a refined modesty that makes The Watershed an approachable but sophisticated design. The patterned wood wall paneling and the flowing ceiling drapes play on the theme of weaving and balance, unity, and variety. Furthermore, these elements serve to dampen sound and shape the conversational atmosphere our clients desired.
